I have an old micro atx motherboard. I am desperate for excitement in my life so I decided to build a computer, inside a model of the star ship enterprise that i have. Anywho. i want to know. This micro atx board has onboard everything really. So, if i were to "desolder" the pins underneath lets shy the onboard usb ports, then get some wire, and connect the pins of the usb port to the soldering points on teh motherboard. Would they work well? Did i miss anything?

I don't think it would work, but i've never tried anything like that before. The motherboard has multiple layers of pcb, it isnt just soldered at the bottom for everything, some things dont go all the way through, if you don't care if the mobo breaks then go for it, what i recommend is getting a standard usb extension cable, and then using that
