Well after a couple of months being a board troll I finally decided to join up and start OC'ing.

Getting some weird readings from motherboard monitor though, at the recommend sensor I get around 43 C idle at the stock 133 fsb
So I got a cheapy front panel temp read, but its in F, so converting what the diode between chip and heatsink says I get 28.5 C who do I listen to??

Playing with mbm I found that the winbond 1 sensor gives me the same temp, but mbm's site says that's my case sensor.

Confusion reigns

note: I'm stable at 3.06 GHz, but mbm gives me 70C under full load, I feel like I can push it a bit more with the Zalmann that comes today, but not knowing these temps 100% is buggin me

Well i guess you use a P4 3.06 and for the temp problem you have, do you use an Abit board?
If so, Abit has a funny way of showing high temps.
Im always using BIOS temp to see if idle temp checks out ok, compare BIOS temp and idle temp in windows if you get the same (or somewhat same) readings you are monitor the right probe.
*But Abit boards show higher temp*

47c stock seems normal too me

Using an MSI board, think I got it worked out....thanks to a nice new Zalmann. Now I'm idle at 26 C @ 3.06 Ghz :)
Looks like thats about as high as I'll get it, 180 mhz on the fsb will boot, but I crash out pretty quick. Oh well....3 is good
