Where does the power for the headunit come from?
Is it directly from the battery or does it go through somthing that makes it a little weaker?

usually its wired (with a fuse) to a live line throuhj the fuse box. Safe that way

Ok, so its the same ampage as what comes from the battery?

Ok, while I'm at it where does the litte wire that makes the amp (for subs or other speakers) turn on come from? is there supposed to be a designated wire coming from the headunit on there or do you just splice the head unit's power or what?

(I am installing a new system if you hadn't guessed and there are some things I don't remmeber from my past experinces AND i am (unfortunatly) dealing with the stock head unit untill I can get some more money.

I'll ask my dad for sure since that's the business he is in but usually you can take a multimeter to the fuses in the fuse box and find a line and turns on and off with the car and hook both auto turn ons (from the amp and the radio) to it.

You can acutally run it straight to the battery without harming it but the line will drain your battery and the unit will always stay one.

to properly wire and amp to an headunit you need to wire the blue remote wire coming from the amp to the power antenna wire coming from the headunit. this way the amp will turn on then the HU is turned on.
