My friend has a Intel socket 478 with a retension bracket. He wants a new heatsink and fan so he asked me what would be the best. Of course, i told him the SLK-800-U + TT Smart Fan 2. He said he didnt want to have to take the mobo out to take the retension bracket off so he could mount the SLK. So that leaves me with choosing something else.
This is his mobo -> MOBO
This is his current cooler -> CURRENT COOLER
He said he is getting 70c load temps WHICH IS EXTREMELY BAD, i know. But he also told me that that clips on the cooler that mount to the retension bracket are broken (or something like that) which makes his heatsink/fan mount on the CPU poorly and causes the temps.
Anyone has a recommendation?
