View Full Version : Anyone killed a TBird with excessive votage?

Just wondering how safe/long-lasting 2.3V would be with a max temp of 35C. It takes that much voltage to get my TBird800 stable at 1.2Ghz.

Also, since my peltier is only 111W my temps can range from just-below-freezing to 35C (pretty much the limit of 111W)... do you think this is enough temp change to stress the cpu material? My coldplate is 1/2in thick so there's no chance of a quick temp change (at most 1 degree per second).

that is a HIGH voltage but not unheard of-YES a high voltage does stress the cpu, but that is a GOOD temp for those volts so im not sure how measures out-should still last 2 years at least. Youll reolace before then i bet, yes fluxuation no matter how small does affect amterials-when it is hot it expands, when it is cold it contracts-do it long enough and.... well thats how sidewalks crack-cold in the winter-hot as hell in the summer, after awhile they crack but it take a few years like your cpu
