Has anyone tryed a car or truck a/c evaporater core for cooling?
If so, how did it work. They large and have the proper air flow.
I know that some of them are too large for internal use but I'm thinking of external use.

Thank You Mull

The A/C radiator would work, but there are drawbacks.

*The length of tubing and many bends in them will slow down the waterflow, not to a stop of course, just slower than a heatercore would.
*Make sure you aren't mixing metals. If you have (or plan) a copper cpu waterblock, use a radiator that uses copper pipe for the serpentine tubing instead of aluminum. Or use an aluminum waterblock (if you can find them) if it's aluminum tubed.
*It can be difficult to mount a shroud to them, but that's sure to be overcome with some fabrication talent.
*Large size makes it difficult to add fans to it. You either need many fans on a funky shroud, or you need one big mutha of a fan.

Just some thoughts. Not trying to be discouraging at all, just giving you some things to think about as you choose. Personally, I've not seen an all aluminum system, and think it would be pretty neat (and lighter for LAN's). Clean aluminum has also got to be purtier than the dull solder on a 'core.:D

Thank you for your info and thoughts. Lots of things to think about. You are not discouraging at all. You gave me some up and downs that I will have to ponder and move on
THANKS
