Lots of holes in the information that you provided. First lets start with your CPU. You said it is a 2.4, but is that a 2.4a, 2.4b, or a 2.4c? The difference is in the cpu versions is for the most part the front side bus speed. The 2.4A has a 400 bus, 2.4B has a 533 bus, and the 2.4C has a 800 bus. Which chip you have will make a difference in how far you can overclock.

I am guessing that since your m/b is a SY-P4x400 dragon ultra platinum then you probably have the 2.4a cpu which will not overclock like the b or c.

Next question I have is what heatsink do you have specifically? Saying $50 does not mean anything except you either have a heck of a fan on there or you overpaid ;)

Last question is what kind of memory are you using? Is it in one slot or two?

Without more info we really cannot help much.
