My vote is for guaranteed 2100+ T-Bred B at newegg for $9 cheaper with free shipping.

EDIT: also posted below, here's why:

You can pay 40-something dollars and end up with a good chip.
We're talking guaranteed in writing Thoroughbred B.

There are no DUT3C 1600+, 1700+, 1800+, 1900+ A's but
2000+ and 2100+ DUT3C can be either an A or B and Newegg is the only place that clearly says
Type: 2100 XP Thoroughbred (revision B)

and they cost $9 cheaper than excaliberpc.com 1800+.

After all this time it appears that it's still the same choice of three:

1. 1700+ out of pocket cost $49 for guaranteed B: http://www.gameve.com/store/gameve_viewitem.asp?idproduct=267 (because it's 40% cheaper than guaranteed DLT3C B)

2. 2100+ guaranteed B at Newegg (because it's $9 cheaper than guaranteed DLT3C B at excaliberpc.com)

3. You laugh at 40% cheaper and $9 cheaper part? Then spend $ on 2500+ Barton

Is that a good xp1800, I was just wondering becouse that Is what I got in my retail box at a computer show. I paid $137 for that chip and an asus a7n8x-x board. It hits about 2.2 stable on a volcano 9 @51 load and 2.4 @54c but it scrams. I killed the board and I am waiting on a a7n8x-deluxe refurb from new egg.

very nice deal on that combo!....I feel that once you get that sk7 or slk800 I mentioned in the other post you will hit 2.4 easy with that proc :D

I have to disagree. Newegg sent me a JIUHB instead of the 'guaranteed' AIUHB. Some say there is not a difference, but I'm convinced that the 2100+ JIUHB/DUT3C model performs the same as a 1700+ with the same steppings. That equals not so good overclocking in comparison with better steppings. My point is that the guarantee didn't work all that well.

HOWEVER,

I did not call Newegg and ask for another chip. I was in a rush as I was moving across the country. Knowing them, they would have sent me a different one had I asked.

EDIT: It appears Newegg is no longer advertising them as AIUHB. They do still say they are DUT3C's.

JUIHB is not the best stepping, JUIXB ( I thing, it was someting like J..X.B) is better and week 321 you can hit 2.5

Agreed I wouldn't spend more then $70 on a tbred B when for $85 you can get a Barton which has more cache and is almost guarunteed to hit 2.3....I just happend to get lukcy with the 1800+ and at the time I bought my 1700+ for $70 the barton wass selling for $199.....so if I where to buy a new proc now I would proabaly go with the beasty Barton....UNLESS! I could get a lucky 1700+, 1800+ JIUHB DLT3C or tbred B 2100+ for around $50-$60 :)...just my 2 cents:D
