I forget the brand off hand because I'm at work. The CDRW I have is a 52x48x52 with 2mb onboard buffer. Problem is that it won't burn over 32x. I use Nero and have the settings up to 52x but no difference.
Any ideas?
WinXP Pro system, Epox 8KHA+, XP1600.
Thanks

the CD's are also rated for speed.
40x CDRs will only burn at a max of 40x
so you need 52x CDRs, but ive never seen any, the max ive seen is 48x
This is kind of the problem with high speed CDRW's, you need media that will burn at that speed. Try different brands, some burn faster than thier rated speeds, I bought some good TDK's that will only burn at 32x but I bought a spindle of cheapies rated for 24x but will burn fine at 48x. Most newer burners check the media before they attempt to burn if it can take a certain speed.

The reason the cheapies burn fast is they don't have a media identifier tag that says what teh maximum burn speed is. Proper cd manufctureres put a tag on the cd that says what the maximum speed is, cheap ones don't or if they do they set it to a very high number resulting in possiable bad burns becasue your drive will burn as maximum speed. Also some drives will limit how fast you can burn if they don't find a tag telling them to burn higher, while others will burn full speed (I think your case).
