I have a locked amd 1.1ghz TB. To start off with I used a Taisol fan, but broke it when i tried to unlock my cpu. I bought a cooler master fan to replace the Taisol. I wasn't impressed. After seeing the benchmarks of the Super ThermoEngine on the Internet I wanted it. I bought it and it arrived the next day.

This fan is amazing! It came in a big box with the delta 2" 38CFM fan. I pulled off the stock fan and but this bitch on the heatsink. I found putting the cpu onto the motherboard easy because of their good clip. Once it was all screwed in I booted my pc up.

The first thing I noticed was the sound. It sounds like a cross between a JUMBO JET and a REFRIDGERATION UNIT! Thankfully I am used to a lot of noise in my 9 fan system so I can put up with it :)

After an hour of benchmarking and tests I started to think that VIA H/W monitor was lying but my bios told me the truth. My temperatures were just so damn low! Check these numbers out and weep :)

Before : Idle temp 28°C ... Max temp 43°C
After : Idle temp 32°C ... Max temp 33°C (YES 10ºC LOWER!)

This fan is the best I have ever seen if you have quite a bit of cash to spare and a pair of industrial earmuffs buy it!

That's odd... I wonder why it idles higher, if it peaks lower.....

Well i've my i've come home and I've been playing on my pc again doing some benchmarking. I've actually realised that the 33*°C temp was only because it was mid-day with my radiators on. Atm I've been running Quake3 and sisoft for about 40-50 mins and my temps are 28-29ºC!

Oh yeah, got a question. I've heard on the net that all the delta fans spin at ~6800rpm. If that is the case why is mine spinning at ~7200? Is this a batch thing or is it my case fan doppler effect...

I know that this layout lowers my cpu temp quite a bit (7ºC lower with old coolermaster fan). And now that my cpu temp is this low, my overclocking attempts are much more stable.

I would prolly become a watercooler overclocker if I had the money, the time and the knowhow.

Does your ThermoEngine have the solid or hollow core?
