This was using chilled water, pre run :-

during run

I did a full run of the entire 3dmark03 bench as well to test stability and please the doubters, though it bored me to tears :)

you better check again i just spanked that @$$. i told you if you want my spot you better come correct! all test enabled.

i'm smoken @500/1100mhz and alll test enabled. hell youre running 1100mhz faster on cpu and still can't finish all test!

i'm officialy the first to break 4000 on build 330!
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1349845

and the first person to break 4200 on older builds!
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1258095

come get you some!:p

it's all in fun Zakelwe! this is a blast. i thought i fried my card the other night! i was in the middle of a 500/1100 run at 1.95 volts an i don't know what happened but smoke from the fighter plains started turning pink and boom my hole system whent down. then when i tried to reboot the card wouldn't work no picture no video bios on startup no nothing. so i said well i guess i just fried that one. left the card out al night and put it back in the next day and it was working fine. hell it's running better now than before? can't you tell?;) it must have just been sick that night?

:D Nice repost to my taunts

Very nice score walldow ! I'm not sure which is more impressive, the 500Mhz or the 4000 points. I'll have another crack at it next weekend.

I hads similar problems at 385Mhz, the planes got very pixelated so my card had a rest as well. I think you are right in wanting nto get water cooling for it, I think it's struggling with the load.

I have done a full test, or do you mean sounds as well ?

well the scores you are posting don't show me anything except you have a faster CPU than mine? first test wich uses CPU instruction sets for help in rendering, is all you have! as the song goes" let me se it! let me see it!"

i've been waiting for some compatition. i've been on top since i got my card in May! everyone alse has been around 100pts behind. now look how fare back third place is!

i wonder how fast these things can go? i guess we will find out!

But my 3986 score beat you on most of the feature tests such as fill rate, vertex and pixel shaders, but sadly those do not count :(

:)

When are you going to add watercooling ? You need watercooling, to get low temps like mine, and I need to volt mod, to get high Mhz values like yours. Then we'd be looking at 4100 I think and leave everyone further behind.

i had to break an old cpu water block for the 4004 and 4205. all i could do on stock cooling was 3984- 490/1100@1.90volts. the heat from the core was doing some sereous damage to the resistors on the back side of the core. i touched the back side of the core during a 490/1100 run and the thing burnt me! so i had to go with water.
my swiftech video card waterblock won't be here till thursday so i'm having to use the old cpu waterblock for now.
i'm telling you man it does help alot more than stock cooling. at 490 i was holding 94c on idle and pulling around 120c under full load on the card. with the water block i'm only hitting 77c and around 97c under full load at 1.95volts. so a nice differance! and the increase in performance when keeping the card cool is unbelievable!

and as for the scores i work my but off getting this card to run totaly stable, completing all test and keep the top spot. and it just nice to see if someone is going to come for the spot, than stand up like a man and do the same. put it all out there and see what you got. i can gain an extra 50 points by not completeing all the test. but that doesn't show people anything. and it's not a true 3dmark that people can use for comparison. you have a nice sytem and i'm sure you can complete the test. yes it takes a little longer but hell what else have you got to do? if youre setting around benching, than i'd say"not mutch"!

good luck!

I seem to remember macci saying he wiped out one of his video cards by not cooling the voltgage regs on the card and they melted on him.

I'm afraid my 5600U has now blown up and taken out the AGP slot on the Canterwood motherboard  :D I wasn't even benching at the time as well heh heh, tghe stock heatsink had flexed and the fan blades were catching on it so putting undue stress on the card.

So a premature end to the battle. I could get another one but FX5700 is out soon and also I might have to go Ati if HL2 is really that bad with nvidia shaders. I really do not want to go ati .. anyhow it will give you some time to beat my 3dmark2001 score ;)

At the moment I have an S3 Virge PCI card in there, not really the fastest performing card on the block, might get 20 points in 3dmark.

I still disagree with you on doing all the tests, by the time you are not stable enough to do all the tests your game score has goine down anyhow.

Good luck with the Swiftech, hope it helps you go even higher.

well that sucks!who's going to give me motivation now!:( well i guess sooner or later there will be sombody. just hope i don't have to wait another three months?

as far as 3dmark 2001, i would probly never be able to beat youre scores because 2001 is too pc and cpu orianted giving you a great upperhand with a 3.6 gig P4 and 800mhz FSB. i mean yes i'm pretty fast for an AMD system. but if it came down to just good hard number crunching, you eat me for breakfast.

i chalk this one up to a great card! i have to admit that gainward is preaty nice. to bad it's life was such short lived! chears!

and yes if i had to get a new card i too would get the 5700 the 5600 is a great card but the stock horse power is just a little lacking. i realy think its a driver issue mre than anything though. they are working to keep the unifide driver arcatecture when it's bsed on the older cards they need to fous on the new cores and better response to newer more complexe engines? just my thought?

i'm going 8 pipes next!

Does that mean nv35 / nv38 or are you moving over to Ati ? I agree with what you say on the driver side, Det 50's are supposed to be out in the next couple of weeks and might be rather nice for FX cards, will have to wait and see.

I checked out your volt mod article and looking at the Leadtek it is exactly the same as the Gainward, down to all component positions and stencilled compent numebrs on the PCB. Is this because they have both copied the reference board or is it because one of them makes the cards for the other ? I would expected slight differences of compontent make etc. Maybe that is why it did 483 stock on the core, Gainward just overvolted it slightly as standard ?

Mine might be still alive, just the AGP slot blown, but i doubt it, Will test it in another machine at some point.

Walldow, keep your 5600U to one side then when you get your Athlon 64 FX or Prescott 4Ghz you can just walk in there and pick up the 3dmark2001 title :)

no i'll stay NVIDIA! it will probly be around X-mas before i upgrade again unless i fry this card sooner! i'm restoring an 87 GTA TRANS AM at the momant and it's taking up most of my extra cash.

any way my leadtek is a NVIDIA referance desighn. i wrote Leadtek asking them for info on the voltage mode controller, they replied " the card is an NVIDIA referance desighn. therfore we can not disclose any information about the card with out the consent of NVIDIA!" so i had to do the dirtywork myself! with the help of a couple others (mentioned in the post) giving me input as well.

well good luck in youre future ventures and if you get the 5600 up and running give me a yell! stay cool!

Yeah, goodluck with yours as well mate, it was both the highs of escatsy and the lows of depresssion during our competition, maybe we'll meet again for round 2 ?! Great fun.

I'm at #2 for the Gf3 ti200 as well, but I think now I have blown my AGP slot that a nice Amd64 or Prescott might be in order to get #1 ;)

Regards

Andy

PS Don't volt mod the battery on the Trans Am, it won't help :)
