can you be a little more spficic about your system specs; ie: what's in your system?

HAHA! When i bought my second (old) system of a pal i had a 450 @ 400 too. What made me laugh was his computer was barely stable at 400! So I took the system rounded all the cables (dont worry only IDE33), put a much fatter hsf onto the cpu with some AS1. I put in some case fans, opened the case up and leave it as far away from the radiator as possible!
Now I got her going at 472Mhz (4.5x105) but getting it any higher prooves impossible with my setup. I recommend doing a couple of the things I have done.
Don't be frightened to up the vcore for the K6-2. The K6-2 is a beast when it comes to vcore :)

So, and what happens, when you set you multiplier from 4 to 4,5 ?

I also have a K6-2 450, i changed the multiplier from 4.0 to 5.0 and the voltage from 2.3 to
2.6 and the best ive got out of it is 503mhz@73ºF.
BTW is 73ºF a good temp to run at ? This is my first time overclocking.
Ohh, and it has the OEM heatsink and fan on it. I also put another fan in the case blowing
on it just to make sure it wouldnt overheat.

I have a k6-2 400, it actually ran at 395 (go figure) . I have it up to 473 mhz using a 95 mhz bus and multiplier at 5.0, as pitspawn said , the k6-2 is a voltage monster and it took 2.6v to keep my system stable at this configuration.
I also had success with the bus at 100mhz, multiplier at 4.5 and the vcore at 2.4, getting a cpu speed of 444 mhz.
I got this using a bobo motherboard,( compaq oem) i cant even find a manufacturer ffs... antec hsf, thermal paste, slot exhaust fan , 3dfx cool twin fan video card cooler and the psu fan.... runs warm but i have yet to find any software that works with my mobo and gives me any definate temps... so i'm just guessing ;\

I had a K6II 450 @ 560 2.8 V 5x112. Liked to run hot.
I am not familiar with this mobo. Jumpers? Check your setup. These things love volts and tend to
run hot. We really need a little more info to help out.....
