I have a 800 Mhz Duron that I would like to over clock, While I know a lot about computers, and such I have never overclocked before. I have a Via Kt-133 with PC-133 Mem that is at 100 right now. The board if fully adgustible, but I dont know what to change to be safe. I would like to have about 1 Ghz or more since that is what other people are getting I dont think that is asking much. I would like to know what I need to do, and what kind of compoinets I need to get. I Dont want to use water becasue I dont want my dad to know I overclocked it. <he does not use it, but a large water tower might give me away> If you have any qustions about the system ask and I will see if I can get you the information. I will Apericate any help. Thank you.

you're going to want to change the clock multiplier, core voltage and frontside bus.. not necessarily in that order. you change the frontside bus and multiplier in order to get the highest overclock you can, preferable with the highest possible frontside bus speed. you raise the core voltage to stabilize the processor as you overclock. the harder you push it, the more voltage it needs.

I would like to know what I need to do, and what kind of compoinets I need to get.
as for what you need to buy, you definitely have to have good cooling to overclock. the increased speed and voltage results in much more heat being produced by the processor. i good hsf is vital to keep the cpu as cool as possible. you also might want to look around for a conductive pen to unlock you processor, although this can be done with a pencil.

i suggest you read as much as you can in this board, the amd motherboards board and the cooing board to learn more. just generally be willing to read an learn, and overclocking can be a safe, rewarding experience.

also, post the details of the rest of your system.. it's much easier to help someone when you kno exactly what you're dealing with.

good luck, and post again if you need more help! :)
