View Full Version : Win 98 doesnt want to run as fast as i can overclock..or something like that
What i mean is if i go higher than the clock speed on my sig..when i get to teh desktop Windows will say "Windows encountered an error while accessing the registry""restart you computer and windows will fix it"
well i restart my computer and i get the same thing unless i lower the clock speed..so waz up with it? My pc is in an AC cooled room and even with me chattering my teeth i get the same thing...
That's not Windows, that's an unstable OC endeavor. You just found "Your Wall", that's all.

Sounds like that could be a RAM problem not a temp problem if you ran cant handle that FSB then cooler ram does not help much at all maybe 1-2more mhz- Your system is good but you said you have a crappy soundcard-well when you up the FSB it overclocks all the PCI components-soundcard included-they all run at a divisor of the FSB, if you sondcard is crappy and cant handle the BUS speed it wont be stable-also what RAM do you have it could be disliking the higher FSB, but unless you got all good components one is likely to fail when the FSB is upped to much
well i got a Ensoniq sound card
could it be my pc100 memory? it seems to go pretty i have had it 151..i do think it is temp related..i friend went and got me a super ord so im gonna try it out as soon as i mod it to fit my board

It is alsmost deffinately your PC 100 Ram, get yourself PC 150 Ram, or at least some good brand PC 133 Cas 2 Ram
I get windows prtection errors whenthe voltage is to low,ie i raise fsb then voltage.at least your 98 will fix the regestry, mine doesnt.
