I'm sooooooooo frustrated right now. I really need some help guys if yah have any ideas:

Abit IC7
P4 2.4c @ 3.2 (14hr Prime Stable with CNPS7000-ALCU)
1gb Corsair XMS PC3500 (5:4)
Leadtek FX5900
Antec TruePower 550W

Ok everything is fine I ran evey single bench I could on this thing but 3DMark 2001 is totally Fubar! I get a wopping 12k 3dMark on this rig!! WTF!!! I have numbers that bounce around everywhere.. I tryed Win2k and WinXP! I got 12k,15k, and finally when I thought I fixed it I was getting 19k. Now I'm back down to 12k again! I tryed more volatge to the AGP, I tryed 44.03 drivers and 45.23 drivers.. Both same results. Totally lost here.. I tryed changing GAT / hyperthreading / memory timings (even 3:2).. Still nothing! The video card i know works because I had the same card in my amd rig and got 17.5k 3dmarks! I ran 3DMark 2003 and I get 5800 which is normal. The only thing left for me todo is RMA everything. ITs been 3 days tryin to get this turd working and i'm outta ideas.. Sandra mem scores are 6100mb/s and over 10k in CPU.. Its just 3DMark 2001 refuses to give good scores. HAs there been any reported problems like this?

Begging for any help here guys!

Thanks

I have a fealing that you have AA/AF turned on in the control panel of your vid card.

btw, what did you do, that you thought you fixed it(the score went up)....only to have the score go down again.

Yea I mean I ran battlefield for a bit. I hope i'm not sounding to retentive with the benchmarks.. I know there just benchmarks but i'm just really lost on why i'm getting such odd results.

Heyas mica!

Actually I thought it was the new drivers (45.23) because the 44.03's gave me 19k.. I just ran it again this morning and its back to 12k again

I have almost the same system as you minus the card and have never had that kind of problem running those benchmarks on a ti 4400 and ti 4200. Did you try reinstalling 3dmark 2k1? Aside from that I have no clue :(

Thanks for the help guys.

No I made sure AA was off. Like i said same results in win2k and winXP.. (Win2k was worse.. Without OCing at all i got a whopping 9k lol). Looks like i'm pulling the board and slamming my AMD rig back in to be sure... Either way looks like my board is getting RMA'd. Somehting has to be wrong with the AGP slot (or its voltage) I even tryed 1.65v on it.

Oh reason why I need this vid card to work is that i do 3D animation.. So its important.

hehehe fx 5900 is a slug of a card.... also the reason you might be getting whacked scores is that certain driver optimizations *cough cheats cough* might be kicking on and off. 3dmark is a totally screwed bench for Nv based systems due to the way Nv writes its drivers to cover up for the lack of power the Fx's really have. It will show up in games more than it will show up in 3dmark ecspecially since the new drivers reimplemented the now infamous 3dmark cheats. but futuremark is a whipping boy so there won't be a patch now. If you want a card for 3d Animation you should return that Nv pos and get a Matrox parahelia its 400bucks and it will **** kick the Nv at quality and speed in that enviroment since that is what it was designed for.

Yea and I'm not an Ati fanboy I'm ****ed that I can't finish Oni on my radeon :( and its a direct conflict with a dll for the drivers of the card.

But needless to say:

Ati 9500 and up: Great DX9 and DX8 perf
Matrox Parahelia: Crazy Quality and a 512Bit Gpu ooooh. It's Also a decent gamer.
Nv Fx: Disgusting Dx9 perf, Wicked Dx8 perf. *Overpriced*

it's the videocard itself and the thermal throttling.

if you can't keep the card cold enough, then it defaults to your 2D speeds, even during games and benchmarks.
it's a very common problem to the 5800/5900 series.
