How do I know if my Thunderbird 800 is a PGA or SEC chip? I was lookin at some stuff and it listed both.

The PGA (pin grid array) is going to be square with a lot of pins sticking out of one side. The SEC (single edge chip) is going to be rectangular and is going to stick up out of your mobo.
Duh, I just read that the other day in my class too, LOL. Thanks.
sec = single edge connector
not that it really matters, i s'pose... :)

I didn't really think that it was chip...but I couldn't think of anything else that would fit in there. My bad. :)
Ok in lamens terms.
Slot CPU = SEC
Socket CPU = PGA
there you go.
