What can I use to remove the grease off the cpu, including the die.
Thanks
I have tried many different solvents for this exact task. The alcohols don't get AS off in one easy pass. Thin oils and fuel, like WD-40 or lighterfluid, leave residue, as well as most commercial nail polish removers. They typically have additives to make them easier on your cuticles. Strong solvents, like Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Acetone do an excellent job. I use GC Extra Strength Flux Solv. GC P/N 19-270. It is very effective at one pass, easy removal of AS and most ionic and non-ionic contaminants. It is available in a 16 oz spray can, which lasts a long time, from many of the Electronics Supply Houses.

Use 100% Acetone works like a charm and it is so volatile that it is gone without a trace in a couple of seconds.
