Hey All,
I have read so many mixed replies all over the web. I want to know.....
I just bought an A7N8X. I was told that it can unlock the multiplier on some chips. I am going to buy the Xp2800 barton chip. Will it unlock this? If not, is it worth unlocking? Thanks in advance!

nForce2 mobo such as the Asus A7N8X sees all multipliers of factory unlocked T-Breds and Bartons.
2500+ will overclock about the same as 2800+ Barton for half the cost.

most 2500+ cpus will run 3200+ speeds at default Vcore :)

Yeppers... your Asus board will be able to give you every multiplier available for you to tweak to your hearts content. BTW, you'll get the same performance from an XP2500, running it on the 200mhz fsb, than buying the xp2800. XP2500 from newegg $92.00 retail box (3yr warrenty), xp2800 runs $175 retail box. xp2800 runs @ 2.083MHz on 166FSB, xp2500 run @ 1830MHz @ 166FSB. however, raising the FSB to 200, for the xp2500, youget instant xp3200 speed and pwr all for almost half the price. anyways, it's your choice and best of luck.
