5/8" OD - 1/2" ID Polypropylene Y fitting or Brass

I'm looking for a 5/8" OD Polypropylene Y fitting or brass, that has an ID of 1/2". I called U.S.Plastics and the only size that is remotely close to what i'm looking for is the 1/2" OD-3/8" ID. Can anyone direct me to a site that would have what i'm looking for?

I wish I knew of a source for the part you are looking for.

If you are looking for a very low restriction wye, the only thing I know of to suggest is these. (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=PVC+Tubing+Fittings&product%5Fid=Blue+PVC+Flexible+Wyes)

They are very pricey, and you might need to permanently silicone them to your tubing to prevent leaking, but they are an option.

Me too! I have looked around everywhere for 5/8" OD 1/2" ID Wyes and can not find them, 1/2" OD seems the biggest. 5/8" OD Tees are easy to find though...

Yeah, I was given that suggestion by the rep. I spoke to, but at approximately $9.00 each I wasn't too thrilled about it. From the looks of it, that may be my only solution at this point. I thought that the size I’m looking for would be as available as the other common sizes, but I guess I was wrong.

Yes... I use 2 wyes in my parallel heatercore setup so I need 2 5/8" OD's bad but have been unable to find them. I do NOT want to use the ones above in the link by Since87... Not secure enough for me. Bald Shadow, if you find some, would you PLEASE PM me? Thanks!

Yes nikhsub1, I definitely will PM you if I happen to locate any. I plan to get extra for others that I know are interested. Even if I get stuck with an extra few, I’m sure I would be able to get rid of them very easily.

5/8"ID = 15.9mm--- 7/8"OD = 22.2mm just to give you an idea of how big the tee would be that I found here (http://www.qosina.com/pdf/2003Catalog/p157_163.pdf). Just click on the wye to place an order.
That seems about the only size remotely close to what we're looking for that I found so far.

It will be next to impossible to get 1/2" ID tubing over 7/8" though... Why don't they make 15mm OD Wyes? So close!

Found something promising! I found THIS (http://www.harvardapparatus.com/pdffiles/newpro_pdf/NP1_065.pdf) and have called. The woman is calling the supplier to see if they can get 5/8" Poly wyes. If they can, I may just buy a bunch and sell them to all who want them for what it costs me. I await the call...

Got the call, bad news :mad: the supplier does not have 5/8" wyes... This is getting absurd!

I had to make my own. I took a 5/8" OD elbow, cut the corner off so that it would sit on the fat end of a 5/8" to 1" adapter. Gooped, then fiberglassed(fiberglassing very important).

ok i dont get it why not use the ones in the link? couldnt you goop em or glue or something to make them stay on the tubing?or slipthem over the tubing and goop? or something?

Are you talking about the blue PVC ones?

I've got one of those. They are a very snug fit on 3/4" OD tygon. I'd be a little concerned that if I put goop on the tubing before I inserted it, that I wouldn't be able to get the tubing to go in very far.

Assuming I did get the connection gooped together well, it would probably be permanent. I'd rather be able to take the wye back out and change hose lengths though.

I don't like to mess around with goop and wondering if the lines are secure etc. I like hard plastic fittings where i can use hose clamps. If I can't find such a fitting, I will stick with my 1/2" OD wyes.

I may have to pick a couple of these up. I'm getting ready to *hopefully* run dual HC's on my rig. Both will be modified to single pass and have two barbs at the top and 1 on the bottom. I also have a WW. The way I have the tubing layed out in my mind, I figure I will need 3 wyes! Thanx Nikhsub1!

hey all NAPA carries 5/8 Y fittings in plastic barbed ends but they are almost $9.00 and it takes a couple days to get them ordered in but they are dependable hope this helps
