I have a question, can I share my broadband connection through a second Nic card, I have onboard as my in from my router and an add in pci card with a patch cable run to the second machine and am wondering if it's possible to share the connection that way and if so how? Both will be running Xp pro.
thanks for the help, oh and the main reason is I am out of open spots on the router.

yes you can. go from broadband to router. router to machine with two nics. then enable internet connection sharing for that connection. then run cross-over cable between that comp and the one that needs internet.. I would recommend you check the cyber deals for the deal I posted about a 5 port switch for 4.99, would be more convenient, but its possible as stated above.

When I enable it on the main rig it cuts off my connection, is there a way around that?

your probably enabling the wrong connection or have the stuff connected differently. you enable ICS on the connection to internet, not the one to the other comp
oh ya!. just remembered you proly use some namebrand router/switch right? like linksys? well its buiolt in DHCP asigns addresses in the 192.168.1.x block. but ICS assigns you a staic address of 192.168.0.x so there's no way they'll communicate with each other.
*edit* come to think of it, that shouldnt matter at all, n/m sorry, heh. check to make sure your enabling and connecting the right stuff to the right places
