View Full Version : Restarting problem
I have a celery system which in not overclocked but the problem is that a month ago when i was playing System shock 2 it just restarted. I tried again an in half an hour it restarted again. I thought it was a softare conflict so i uninstalled media player 7 so it seemed ok for some time but in a weeks time it started again only that at this time it would do it at random like when i was typing in word or browsing the net. I don't think there is a hardware conflict or something like that.
The mobo is sort of generic cos i've never heard of the name and the celery is a 466 @ 37c w/ stock cooling.Generic RAM 128Mb,8 mb shared graphics, on boad sound etc.
My other duron system doesn't do this.
Please help guys.
Do i need to reformat and reinstall.
I use to have the same problem with my system. I was running my memory at 133 and it would rest my computer for no reason at all. I would be on the web or playing music or doing some benching and it would just reset. So I set it back down to 100 and it runs fine now. Well it doesn't run fine but it doesn't reset anymore.

I did have the same problem some time ago..
It it was also a Ram problem with me..
Do you use brand or oem Ram?
Actually the memory is generic but now that i'm thinking of it i changed my 64Mb PC 100 module with a 128Mb PC 133 module a month ago (both of them are generic).
So you guys think is the memory? Well it might be although i was thinking in terms of hardware or software conflicts.
It happend to me even after I got 256mb PC133 memory. Everyone on overclockers says it's my KX133 board. So maybe it is. I got it from pricewatch and in the ad it said that it was for my AMD KX133 board. So I don't know. Right now I'm waiting for my GFD to come in the mail. Then I'll have to cut a hole or just crack the case open and put the sucker on. Then I'll be running at 800mhz. Hopefully I won't have to up the voltage tooo much.
Clock on
