A VERY VERY Close call for me tonight!

I was cutting some fire wood this evening and had a bit of a mishap with the chainsaw... first time I;ve ever cut myself with one. I won;t show you the actual carnage... but here is my pants over the bandage:

Don;t worry bout me... I'm fine, its looks worse than it really is, doesn;t hurt at all.

Man, gotta be careful. Hope that wound was cleaned out and bandaged at the hospital. Chainsaw oil and wood bits are a great catalyst for an infection. Hope it heals soon and without a scar.

It was well taken care of... no fooling around with something like that.

although, it is morning now, and I will say.... it hurts now! Maybe last night it was all numb or I was pumped up with adrenalin, but its gonna be sore today. Stupid doctor said... oh, you can go to work, just try not to walk around too much... WELL GEE, thanks doc, that practically all I do at work is walk around from place to place in the shop.


KaHNZa: It was a brand new pair of pants :eek: and not mine, thier my pants from work, now I have to explain to them why I have an 8 inch gash in them :o

The bandage is off now, letting it air out. But are you sure you really wanna see it? ITs not pretty. If I were to show anyone, it would be via PM only... not posting it up for the world to see(all of it anyway)

I was cutting a small tree about 12' tall, and it started to fall the opposite way I wanted it to so I held the saw in one hand and made an attempt to push the tree the other way with my other hand.... now, anyone who has run a chainsaw knows when they get low on gas they tend to idle very quickly, so the chain doesn't stop like its supposed to... and this is how it got me. Luckily I think my pants got the worst of it.

oh i see, i cut wood pretty often, and what i do when that happens "if it happens" is just hold the saw with both hands and push my shoulder agianst the tree :)

It actually didn't bleed much at all. It bleed more the following days than when it first happend. Its getting a lot better now, itches like heck sometimes cause its all scabbed over.
