A guy a work claims he just recieved a AthlonXP 2500+ that operates at 1.50v defualt.
I hardly doubt this but this is the place he got it from,

Is there really potentially such a thing? And if so how will these things overclock. There must be someone else out there who must have gotten one of these if they really do exist.
Oh man, imagine the potential for overclocking.

Sounds very possible to me. The AQZEA's would be the latest revision to the Bartons, like the AIUHB's were. If they're going to be superior, then they'll likely require a lower stock core voltage. Its of week 31; brand new, so he just may be about the first to get one.

Well they didn't update
AMD Athlon™ XP Processor Specifications
The following url is too long but add this in your browser
http://139.95.253.214/SRVS/CGI-BIN/
with this
WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=2,E=0000000000110332163,
and this
K=7607,Sxi=8,Case=obj(1224)
together.
so if he holds one in his hands, he should get AMD to update it with one simple email.
where it says "Submit Email" on the left side of the screen.
P.S. Come to think of it, I'll just do it, so if it exists, they'll update it.

If true it totally backs up my theory about the the 3rd letter in the 4 alpha code being related to minimum voltage at default and was something I thought might happen to bartons based on the shift in this 3rd letter away from the start of the alphabet. My theory is over here.

Newegg has them. I bought one. It wasn't as good as I was hoping. It took 1.9 Vcore to do 2.5GHz which IMO is ridiculous. Found a buyer for it and went back to my 2.3ghz 2100

Well to get to 2.5 at under 2.0 volts is damn impressive for a Barton IMO. Was this on air or water?

Why's that rediculous? It takes 1.95v on my dlt3c to get 2.5, and 2.15v on my 2100 to get 2.4.

Its not rediculous for water cooling or better. Thats good for a barton. Hmmm, Time to get out the CC and order one.

here is a review http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD02MTQ
EDIT: opps sorry not AQZEA but a decent read anyways

Thats the standard DKV4D Barton which runs at 1.65V.

that was a nice barton top hat, my barton is maxed out at 2.2ghz, 1,85V(actual is around 1.89 according to mbm...)

I am able to hit stock speeds with 1.55 Volt on my chip. I never tried for lower.
I'm over 2.3 @ 1.775 with my passive water setup cooled by a box fan on low blowing on the rad. I feel i could take it higher with a stronger psu.
Oh yeah - its a

Pity you didnt have all the stepping info to verify whether my theory is correct - my guess would be that the third letter of the 4 digit alpha code after the week number is M.

What does the M stand for???? I'm behind on Bartons,,, I'll ask him thursday when I go back to work, he's got the whole thing written down.

Read my theory in link earlier - I think that say an SPMW chip can run at default at a lower voltage than say an SPAW (lower down the alphabet relates to lower voltage to run at default) this I think is applicable to Tbreds as well based on my research.

My chip was an IQXEA 0330 "9"
I guess as it was a mobile chip, I had higher expectations of it especially since I'm watercooled. That and spending $110 on 200MHz more was sorta stupid. I ended up losing $5 on the deal which wasn't bad.

So what is your definition of a "Y" barton?

Well you friend may be holding a mobile CPU.
There may be no DLV4D Bartons after all:
Me:
Please update AMD Athlon XP Processor Specifications page to include the recently released 2500+ DLV4D. The official page lists only 2500+ DKV4D.
AMD:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting AMD's Technical Service Center. The processor specifications only indcludes desktop processors only. DLV4D indicates alow voltage or mobile processor.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, bla bla.

I asked what a "Y" chip was and the results can be seen here (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=229076).
They look to be promising OC'rs.
