What's everyone's thoughts on a rad for a full tower chieftech case? I like to stick one above the the PSU where normally the 92mm fan would go. The normal chevette heatercore won't fit. I'm not to worried about top performance. Just ease, looks, and quite factor with decent performance.

Maybe a BIX would fit? That would be an OK choice, expensive for what it is, but not a bad rad. Maybe you can find a used one?

check this site out:

www.sysfx.net

I was using a heater core with 120mm Panaflo 90cfm. Got the dual 92mm and was able to get the same results with less noise and it is small. You can mount it directly to your 92mm fan. Nice product, and simple. No leaks, but be sure to call first and ask whether they have it in stock before you order. Tell them Michael sent you over and they will probably be sure to give you good service:)

wasn't there some warning about sysfx in some other post, possibly in another site? or was that resolved? Anyway, if the chevette core is too large, sysfx definatly caries any size core you could want, and the BIX is a good also.

Flip it 90 degreees and put it on the top of the case instead. Then, you can fit a really big heatercore. :D

just use any compact radiator. Radiator makes very little difference in a water cooled rig. You won't be able to overlock much higher just coz your temp's are 2 degrees colder.

Yes, I am the one that posted it, hence the warning to call first. Actually, after all was said and done they made it right. But they run behind in order processing and if you call first and get them to commit to having the rad on hand and able to send the next day you should be alright. Just be sure to get them to commit to next day send, and delivery of tracking number. If they don't then cancel order immediately:)

Thanks guys!! Looks it's the bix as I can fit in there on it's side. I'm trying to keep everything as clean as possible and without hacking my case up like i did the last time. I'm going to use an old dead gutted delta 120 for a shroud.

you could try www.jpiperformance.com. He has the otis which is pretty small. He is a very good guy to do business with.:)

See nikhsub1's rad setup?

http://www.netbetty.com/H20/cube/outside/mobo.jpg

he has dual fans/shrouds on two heater cores, even though that may look big put together and you might not be sure of the size of the unit completed its about:

6" x 7.25" x 6.71" (L x W x D)

With the proper modding you could fit two full units in just about any case. I'm doing this with a Coolermaster Wavemaster TAC-T01 case, but i will end up cutting out nearly all of the bottom of the case to do this. I'll add about a 3 inch extension of the casing at the bottm and i'm also going to make a wind tunnel to deliver air to the heater cores from the front outside of my case. Hence all o fthis i'm also going to be able to fit a Eheim 1250 pump in there too!

So it all depends on what you want and how far you're willing to go to get it.

A 24" x 24" sheet of aluminum costs about $30 USD at a .039 thickness (1mm) where i live.
