ya know, i just got a chip too , its a mobile celeron @ 1.06 (laugh i know) but it has at least 256 meg cache, its got 478 pins, but doesnt even fit into a desktop pentium 4 motherboard.
id REALLY love to know where the hell i can order a motherboard for it, and YES i tried using the search here for one, to no avail.

anyone?

Why won't it fit a P4 board? They're both 478 pin PPGA FC-PGA2 according to the s spec.

yes. in a COMPLETELY different pin configuration.
but at least someone replied to this, thank god, instead of wishing google a happy birthday, which is much more relevant.
argh, this is driving me nuts here. of course i havent sat down
and painstakingly researched any of intels files yet, which im about to do , but thank you for at least trying to help
at least some people have the right idea about what the forums
SHOULD be for :)

thanks

for anyone mildly interested in maybe helping me out here, a link to my chip.
http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=sl643

all i need to know is where to look for motherboards for this guy.
and NO, regular p4 desktop boards wont work.
they both say 478 pins, yes, but they PHYSICALLY do not line up with the holes in the socket of desktop boards, i have two sitting in front of me and they simply just dont.
(this is a MOBILE chip btw peoples)

thanks

its a mobile p3 celeron. it has a 133fsb and 256kb cache so basically its a p3 1.06ghz. but its based on the tua core. good luck finding a board for that. the slowest p4 celeron mobile is around 1.4ghz.
