Hi my dad just called me and said he ordered 2 xp2800 bartons from newegg.com, but one is green and one is brown, i havent seen the codes yet, but i just wanted to know if theres any difference. Thanks.

Not really. I also have one of each color (2500+). In my case the brown one is older but OCs better.

If they're the same stepping, I'd grab the newer one (check the date of production). In my experience, the newer the chip, the better the process was to make it therefore better overclocking.

Yeah, I was puzzled when I was expecting a brown Barton (pics on online store) and a green chip turned up :D

I thought that i'd been shipped an older XP (the Thoroughbred)!!!

Lol - first thing after windows was WCPUID to check the cache size LOL!

codes

i got these from my dad over the fone...dunno if he told me everything tho, which is the date code?

Green: AXDA2800kv4d y849016270045

Brown: AXDA2800kv4d y843256280302

I'd put my money on the brown personally, call it a hunch. But yeah, the green's newer.
