just purchased a duron 900 and well, i have to over clock it "i cant help my self" anyhow i was wondering if i can just get away with bumping the multiplier by a factor of 1 to get one gig without screwing with the v-core. im kinda new with the socket a stuff but i know about the L1 bridge and the L7
Thx for any advice

upping the core voltage is just done when you can't get your computer to POST with the overclock. you don't have to mess with the core voltage to begin with, but eventually, if you wan't to overclock it as far as you want, you'll have to up the core voltage.
Yeah, sure you'll stop at 1ghz. Right....a couple of days will go by and you'll wonder, "Can it hit 1100?" Then you try, it sort of works, but needs more voltage. You then up the voltage and it works. A couple more days go by, and you wonder if the fsb can be tweaked. You end up in this endless cycle of "I wonder if this could get me some more mhz". It's an addiction, just give in now and save yourself lots of time and pain.

Unfortunately rugby is right. This is a sickness....I mean obsession.
Good luck and have fun...

Exactly, once into overclocking, thereīs no way to get out of it. Prepare yourself for no longer having time for games or other applications on your computer.

It can always be clocked a little higher. Thatīs the problem!

Keep diggin through this site. There are plenty of people running this cpu to new heights. There are alot of factors to consider. Mainly COOLING. All I can say is start in little steps and let it burn in for a while. Than go up from there. Keeping an eye on temp. You should be able to get +200 without a prob

I do not know of anyone that has given a real good effort at overclocking the Duron 900.
Duron 900 overclockers are seemingly few and far between. It appears that all of the attention given the higher clockspeed T-birds has left a void of sorts.
There is some evidence..very sparse evidence, that with a good 'ANCA' core, good technique...and the overclockers best friend..patience, that 1.2Ghz may be attainable with air cooling.
On Pricewatch the lowest price shown as of posting time from someone that I would buy from is $73.00 + shipping.
Happy overclocking,
T

Good to see that you hit the GIG club, but in reality that chip could handle 9x133 which is 1.2 gigs
