I know this topic is redundant.
But I have an Abit NF7-S that I've been running an Athlon 1800+ Palimino. I'm now considering upgrading to the Barton 2500+.

I'm considering getting it from Newegg. Does anyone know what stepping they are shipping now and how well it overclocks.

Is it worth ordering from newegg, if so then should I get the retail or OEM. Which is a guaranteed better stepping.

Thanks

well I just got a AQXEA 0330VPAW "Y" 2500+ from newegg, OEM and it does 2.2 ghz at 200 fsb w/ 1.625v

cames yesterdayfor me

i bought 2 xp2500 about 3weeks ago...
AQXEA 0330 VPMW Y864917260873
AQXEA 0330 VPMW Y864717200763

both do 2.2GHz with default voltage. That's xp3200 territory

Thanks guys.

I'm placing an order for a retail at newegg.

It was either this or go completely with intel. This would have required me to purchase a new MB and processor.

Seeing that I had already invested in the Abit NF7-S and its ability to support the better barton, I figured it was worth the investment at the time.

Shame, I'm hearing a lot about the 2.4C.

Hey, BTW the Athlon 64 would require a new platform I guess???

Yeah, and which depends on what athlon 64 you go with. Socket 754 or socket 940 or 939. In any route, needs a new mobo.

My retail 2500+ from Newegg just arrived this afternoon (ordered Monday night, arrived Thursday Noon - :D ). It's an AQXEA 0330WPMW. My NF7-S should arrive tomorrow and I should be able to take it out for a spin this weekend. I'm not gonna push it too hard before I get a "real" heatsink for it.

Received on 9/12/03 a 2500+ from Newegg.com (Bless you!)

Stepping is AQXEA0330SPMW

Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 1006
2 x 256 Samsung K4H560838E-TCCC (PC3200)
Zalman CNPS3100-Plus
550Wattp PS

Running Prime95 @2.2 11 x 200 @48c for over 3 hours! Not one hiccup!
Will run 3DMark03\3Dmark2001SE over the weekend.
So far it is stable!
