I can get this proc past 400 , but my video card wont work when I try for 450! It would be a 100mhz FSB , 4.5x multiplier , and 2.6 voltage HELP ME! It's not heat problems and what is lapping your heatsink?

Lapping is smoothing the heatsink so it makes better surface connection with the processor for better heat transfer. Without more details I suspect you have it overclocked as far as it will go with your current cooling.
You can surf the internet and play games, it may not be the fastest, but it works fine.
Disregard Da Whip, I think it was a bit of humor.
Anyway we all have to start somewhere, and I think you're on the right path. I've had very good success with the K6's myself. You have to follow the generally accepted methods of overclocking. Start with the basics, get your system stable, and then take it slow. Multipliers, voltage, good memory, FSB. Pay particular attention to the heat, a socket A fan will fit, and do wonders for the temps on your K6. I've used the Global Win FOP32's with no problems.
The following is as I posted in a previous reply;
There's a bit more to lapping than just "smoothing" it up. What you are also trying to achieve is a perfectly flat interface between the mating surfaces of the heat sink and the CPU core. If you were to take a straight edge to the surface of the heat sink you would find that, in many cases it's not straight and true. To remedy this you should sand the base as stated by Da Whip, In addition I would recommend that you place the sandpaper on a pane of glass, tape it down if necessary, pay attention that you don't tilt the heat sink, resulting in a heat sink with an angled bottom causing uneven pressure when attached to the motherboard. Follow the above procedures and use progressively finer paper, finishing with a polishing compound if needed to achieve a mirror-like finish. Use no waxes or other foreign material other than a quality thermal transfer paste between the heat sink and the CPU.
You should see a noticeable decrease in your temperatures after performing this procedure.
Good Luck!

contrary to what i heard before gettin into this about a month ago, overclocking seems to be a hell of a lot cheaper than i previously thought! i bought 2 80mm fans a gold finger device, a new hsf, and a server case fan, tube of arctic silver 2. and a cpu thermal probe for right around 100.00!!! all u have to do is mow a few lawns a week or get a paper route and u could probably purchase these items in 2-3 weeks!!
talk to your parents about a ride to a few odd jobs, im sure they will work with ya.
good luck bro!

I need a Duron, I was yanking your chain. If that is all you have I can see trying to make the best of it. Did not mean to offend.
i totally believe in making the best of what ya got.. or can get.
i've been using "ditched" aka used, parts for close to a year.
prior to that was using webtv.
finally, i get to build a box that is suitable, and i'm really happy.
i'm sad to retire this 450 K6-2, but i found it a good home :)
it has been a very good chip for me.
i think, honestly, that maybe you're letting the carriage get in front of the horse. do yourself the favor of reading, then read some more.
you are definitely on track, the right one, but you stand to gain.
the reason i say this... is i'm always finding out more, every day, and it helps.
i don't want you to damage, or kill your chip... or any other parts.
take it easy and be considerate to the hardware. you'll be glad in the end.
and remember that the stuff has a limit!!!
best of luck!
by the way, i've learned stuff from 13 year olds!!
