Hi all!!!! I need advise. My 8 yr old son built his first pc and everything went fine win xp pro. The only thing that i notice wrong is at shutdown. It always says closing network connection????? what is this all about?? my PC does not display that message at shutdown. I have tried almost everything to get rid of it but it is still there, we are not setup on a network, i'm wondering if he added something when he installed win xp pro that i did not catch??? PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks Scott

is your the same operating system? and I wouldnt worry about that, that is just XP stopping all the services running in a proper manner. if there is a Network card in the computer it will say that even if there is no connection generally. sometimes it says that regardless, I wouldnt worry about it too much.
I think it has to do that your son has the Win2K shutdown setting enabled, therefore that shows up.
Yep, the network shutdown setting is most definatly enabled. Doesnt do much really for broadband users anyhow. When you shutdown your pc it isnt connected to the internet anymore. No biggie really, not somehting i would worry about at all.
