I am running a AMD SLOT A 900mhz T-bird with a 1.76 voltage and pc100 ram with just a overclocked voodoo 3 card running at 193mhz with a P3 fan installed on the card "lol"
my case seems to be alittle hot when i feel the top where the powersupply is located when running at full load for a long time "i.e. quake3" but hasnt locked out once and is 99.9 percent stable. after checking my temps after running quake3 i got
CPU temp 66 cel
Systemtemp 47 cel

i read somewhere that anything higher than 59 cel for system temp is bad and i am not sure what the max was for the cpu temp
THANK fellow overclockers

That does seem a bit warm. What's your room temp? What kind of cooling are you using? How many fans? I've also read the 60C mark you want to stay under. I believe that AMD says 90C is the max. Anybody correct me here if I'm off.

Personally I would say you need some more cooling. My T-bird locks up past 45C.

I just check my temps in the bios after haveing the computer shut off for awhile and it now reads as
cpu temp 62 c
system temp 43 c

I have 1 fan on the cpu which used to be on my classic athlon 600 and a fan on my video card

maybe i should get a new fan , i dont know but i heard the slot a t-bird 900mhz run as hot as the classic 1000mhz slot a
remind you i dont have a socket a t-bird

what are you using to measure those temps with first off ? And personally I would suggest dropping those temp down at 10 degrees celsius. I would try and get the CPU in to 50 or less and the case down to 40 or less these are only guesses. My Duron 650 Oc'd to 1050 runs at 45 under load and case temp stays in the 30's most of time or less... Anything above 50 for the CPU you are playing with Danger I think .

Maestro

I just looked in my maunual and the cpu fan is plugged in right next to the computer in the correct slot . i guess the system fan is connected to the other side of the mother board where my first pci slot is next to the powerswitch of the computer. It seems i might need a new fan or what? I think it runs great or is this wrong?

Waaay too hot!!
Bring those temps down at least 10-15 degr.C! Anything below 50C @ ur cpu-temp will keep ur system running much more stable. Your sys.temp calls for a better case-fan as well!

Ya thats WAY tooo hot-id keep the cpu temp under 46-48max under load and bouit 42c at normal operation, case temp shoul be 38-42. Chip wont last long at that heat-try getting 2 more fans 1 for intake and 1 for exhaut of take off the side and blow a house fan on it during games-drop of 10c ill bet

Hey guys i think i might know the problem
I am only running a 235 watt power supply, and i have 2 cd roms 2 hard drives an overclocked voodoo 3 , but that has a fan so. I think my power supply is working overtime maybe?
I dont know but i think im just going to sell my rig and upgrade to a socket a palimino when they arrive this summer. It could be just the slot a 900s run very hot

Ok i think i might have something

under the program cpu cool i get 3 readings of temperture but i dont know what they are i.e cpu, or system
temp 1 42 c
temp 2 52.5
temp 3 27 c
now these temps are under normal load
thanks
