How could I make it that my system would shut itself down if the pump were to stop? I'm not sure if there is a Bios option in the P4C800-E DLX that does this if the temp gets to high. If so could somone tell me where it is or how to go abot doing this?

There should be an option in there. Check under PC health status. Otherwise, just look around.

If you don't find one, doesn't mbm5 have an alarm/shutdown option he could use as a backup?
if you're running a P4 or a P3 then you shouldnt have to worry about it frying, p4's automatically underclock noce temps get to high, p3's usuall shutdown or ccrash, but the cpu is safe either way, if you have an AMD chip, well then its gonna be MOBO setup, be careful tho about mobo setups, sometimes it takes them a second to realize that the chips overheated and it can fry before the mobo shuts it off
Maybe some custom power switch would be proper.
Power on flow, cut on lack of flow.
Using magnetic switch it would be possible to avoid using moving parts partially in water.

I'll dig around in the Bios a bit. I think I saw something there about a thermal event.

I've never heard of a relatively recent bios that didn't have a feature like this. Doesn't mean there isn't one.

If you wanted to get really creative... you could setup a flow-meter in a relay logic circuit that would automatically pull power from your computer in the event of zero flow.

How about this Idea:
it might take up some space especially for a pump with high pressure (head).
Put a T connector in your water line, run a tube straight from the top of the tube, outside your pc, vertiacally attached to the wall. The tube end should be above pump's maximum head and the tube should be opened. So when you turn the pump on the tube will fill with water, up to a certain level. At this level put a float, connected to a swtch, that directly controls power to the PC.
This would only work for people with reservuars, because there has to be some access water in the system in the OFF state in order to fill the tube when its in the ON state.

There is a provision for automatic shutdown in the BIOS once the cpu reaches a certain temp for your m/b!!!!!

just a shot in the dark but maybe if u hook this flowmeter http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/ex-flo-02.html in your system and hook the 3 pin adapter to the cpu fan head on the mobo and have the mobo automatically shut down once it doesnt detect rpms on the fan.?

Nice, but $45 for something like that is far too much.
It would be better to use yes / now checking like in my previous post.
Evetnually if you want to have electronic flow check, I would try to make one on contractron switch - there would be no parts that are partially inside and outside.
Just a fan with magnet inside a tube and contractron switch outside - it would close when magnet is near it. It's a very efficient solution and it should look better :)
(fan needs to limit water flow in the lowest possible way - shape and size of wings are important, it should be rather mounted like fan for air)

In the Bios there's a system thermal option that allows you to generate thermal management event. I enabled that and set it to 55C. I assume this would shut the system down if it exceeds the specified temp.

he is running a p4 it will throtle down, when it gets to hot, and it will save the system, and trust me you will know if this happens, but this will not do anything if you have a hose burst and spray water everywhere, if your pump just fails, or gets a leak and all the coolant slowly leaks out with out damaging anything, the cpu will take care of it self, and not ruin the block like amd's have been known to do.
