The Koolance case I bought had water leaks from video cooler. I don't think the water touched my CPU but few drops of water did manage to touch few circuitry on my motherboard corner right below the IDE port. I did not clean the water with anything and just let it dry. Now, I did not complete the installation so I did not power on the system.
I'm sending the case back and Koolance did offer to replace any part that was damaged from leak but I can't test if it's damaged or not until I get my replacement case. Question is... Could this have damaged my motherboard even tho I didn't power it up?

i seriously doubt it, you could emerse the dang thing in water if there was no power going to it. also all of the circutry is coated on the pcb so its very unlikely that it would cause a corrosion problem espeacially if u saw it and dried it such as you said.

Why send it back-you can actually dip it in water and never power it up-after it dried it will work fine-if you never powerd up ther was not even power in the resistor to arc anything out. Board should be like new-why waste the time to RMA it unless you can fix the leak-not that you should have to !!!

Everybody says water plus electronics=bad, but its really more like, water plus electronics plus electricity= bad.

I wish to point out that sometimes the capacitors can hold a charge after the board is unplugged.
I think it should be fine.
It's not the water that hurts stuff, it's the fact that water conducts electricity and since you never powered it up and let the water dry you should be ok. I had a leak that got water onto my MoBo and vid card and some of the slots and I just set up a fan blowing on it for a couple of days and it works fine.
