Sorry for so many questions but never had so much trouble with building/overclocking system before. Besides, I always get better answer here than from tech support. :)

Now that I have to wait until my new case arrives, I was wondering if I can leave the residue of Arctic Silver on my CPU core and just apply another coat over it when it's time to install it again. Or do I have to clean it and reapply it? If I have to clean it, what's best cleaner for Arctic Silver? Would WD40 work? Nail Polish remover?

I use isopropyl rubbing alcohol and qtips you can get these at any drug store. I would clean the grease off the cpu. It is bound to collect dust while sitting around. Make sure it is clean and apply new grease when you are ready to assemble the system.

Yeah, he is right. Nail polish remover, alcohol, paint thiner. Any of those will work fine. Do yourself a favor and put some new stuff down, dust in the old stuff will work as an insulator.
