want some advise about it... i got a lot of friends with laptops who come to my place and i have a network (2computer) one router... and i'm starting to get interest ted in bluettoth technology since it's really flexible...is anyone having a bluetooth network???
Bluetooth isn't really meant for networking (even though you can do it), it is meant for connect peripherals.
You should use 802.11 for networking.

It would be very slow if you did use it, plus i find it is very tempremental.
You also only have a 10m radius for it to work.

Ok XWRed1, I know the 80211b is better and much faster and made for that... But I´ve seen bt capables of 100m! But the question is.... Are the 723kbps of the transfer rate enough to connect a secondary rig to a main rig equiped with broadband?

The only thing I would use bluetooth for is a wireless headset for my cell phone. Stick with 802.11 for networking.
just get another nic ($4) and a crossover cable ($8?)
set-up dhcp/nat whatnot to get it networked
not to mention 100mbs quite a bit faster than 802.11a/b/g or bluetooth

My PDA has integrated bluetooth, but I have nothing to connect it to. I really can't see any reason to use it due to the range, but I want to use it none the less, simply because it's there :p
Bluetooth is meant for peripheral connection, sort of like a wireless usb. It's range is perfectly good for that.

Well put. That's exactly what it's for.
