ATA 133 is the transfer standard the drive could max out at. ( not likely tough ) It means 133M/s transfer. Most drives max around 50M/s. The best bet is to put the DVD and CD on the secound IDE channel and the HDDs on the first channel. ( the first IDE is usually the lowest number ) Putting the ROM drives on the same channel as a HDD will slow down the HDD.

Put the BOOT ( OS ) drive as IDE1 Master ( the end of the cable on the lowest IDE channel ). Put the other HDD as the "slave" in the middle of that cable. The ROM drives can pretty much go in what ever order you want on the secound IDE channel.

Check your jumper config, set your boot drive as "master" and your second drive as "slave". Or set jumpers to cable select (CS), as long as your main drive (boot drive) is at the "master" end of the cable, normaly the black connector

The only time the cd-rom will slow down the HDD is when it is in use..other than that the HDD will run at it's max 35-47 m/s
