hi all, i was just thinking of awithing out my hs's fan from a loud-azz 39 dba (hsf link here ---> http://www.powercooler.com.tw/product/cooler/pch075h.htm ) to a nice whisper quiet 30 with a 80 to 60 mm adapter, and i was wondering what i should get, like a thermaltake smart fan I, ( i dont want all the cables of the smart fan II) i would want something that pushes around say...40 cfm...like the smart fan I or maybe some other thermal controlled fan thats pretty efficient, but still is quiet enough to let me think... NO i dont want a vantec tornado, don't even try to put a pointless point that goes somethnig like maybe u could get a tornado :p thx ahead of time for any help

This sunon probably is in the neihborhood of what you are looking for decible and cfm wise:

But if you are really trying to go silent I think you should consider a better HS (like a thermalright SK-7) instead of that adapter and throw a near silent panaflo like this on there:

or a vantec stealth like this:

The better hs should make up for the decrease in CFM.

ok one other thing...i wanted to know if a thermaltake smart fan 1 would do the job with an adapter for the 60 mm, i dont want the smart fan 2 cuz it just has WAY too many cables and for the hs, its not a good idea

IMO the sf2 is an awsome heatsink fan... i think youll find many others think so also. and for the SF1 to run at full speed, don't you need to splice wires and them connect them to each other or soemthing?
