Man am I bummed! I installed a VOS 32 and a Northwind GFD Rev.3 on my Athlon 750 Classic and I can't get $hit out of it. After half the night so far the best I can get is 8.5X104 (884). It won't even POST at 9.0. Tried different voltage settings and throttling back the L2 to 1/3. Any ideas?? I was really hoping for better than this, I only gained 84Mhz and that sux for the cost of the GFD and big HSF, BTW temps are fine @ 32C at least the VOS 32 is working!

Moo! :p

Mmmmm you should get a bit more out of her than that... Try upping the voltage...

I agree with Dr.Killdare, bump up the voltage real good, as long as your temps allow it. If I remember, you run 1.7V by CPU default. Try 1.8V and if necessairy, climb to 1.9V. But DO watch those temps, you don't want extreme-voltage CPU's to run hot, because of excessive thermal degradation. As long as temp are good (below 40°C), extreme voltage is possible.

REMEMBER: Voltage can and will be harmfull to your CPU when not being supplied in a proper way! Be very sure you understand the overclocking basics (see the homepage), before tempering with it! Always increase in LITTLE increments, watch temps and stability real good. I've seen people go as high as 2.0V and above, but never spoke with them about their experiences and long-term effects on their CPU. Too high voltage will blow your CPU! There are serveral people (in this forum!) that have blown their CPU by excessive voltage/heat, just keep that in mind. KNOW what you are doing.

I also write this because I don't want to feel responsible when you blow you CPU, and people complaining I didn't warn them. Generally all is OK when you just use common sense, but I need to give this warning when I advice people to increase their voltage.

my experience: I run at 800 with 1.8 instead of 1.9V, for more than 3 months now, temps about 35°C. Tried 1.9 and 2.0V, but the gain wasn't satisfactory, not to mention the long-term effects of these voltages on the CPU. With the standard 1.6 V highest I could menage was 600, maybe even 650, but never run that setup for long.

Good job on the GFD and the L2 adjustment, 750 only need low-rated cache, so the 1/3 speed is needed in most of the cases. Hope you get a nice overclock now, succes!
