I downloaded from the Windows Update site something for DX9 (for my LAPTOP). It finished downloading and installing,then asked to reboot. After doing so, the bios info comes up, the screen goes blank. Windows doesn't even load. :(
ok,message just came up:
windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\system32\c_437.nls
XP home too. :(
The only CDs I have are the recovery CDs. I don't even have the XP HOME cd to go into the recovery console =(
//alright,got into the recovery console and copied the file over from my XP pro cd. Weird stuff. Not sure what went wrong, but at least it's fixed...
