What is everyone running thier VCore's at? Mine is at 1.8vcore now at 1.33 air cooling. If I go to 1.4, I get locked up in windows after it finishes booting. Once I get my new DD kit that came in yesterday hooked up, I will go higher and set the VCore to max <1.85> and see if it will post. My air cooling temps now, however, are only 33 idle and 35 full load. Is everyone modding their MB's to reach these higher speeds?

Mines at 1.85 and I cant go any higher than 1480 without locking up. I cant seem to hit 1500 with any of my 3 chips.

It's funny, but I cant go to 1400 at all without locking up, except if I change it to 10x140. And the 11 multiplier does the same. If I stick it at 10.5x133<1400> then I lock up after windows loads completely but 10x140<1400> works. WTF??

Yeah, my 1g/266 does not like 10.5 or 11. I have to drop back from 10x145 to 10.5x124 to get 10.5 to play. That is at 1.85V, but running up to 1.9 does not make a difference. It almost runs 10x150 at 1.9, but falls out of Prime95 after a couple passes. When I get around to installing the voltage mod in my KT7A (already prepared), it will be interesting to see if I can get it to stabilize at 10x150. I'd be ticked pink. TT, you remember the problem I had with the even and .5 mults? It went away. Very odd.

I just saw that all 3 of u have the Abit KT7A, maybe that's the problem? Maybe the KT7 doesn't like high multipliers.
Have any of u tried ur chip on another motherboard?

1.87 volts KT7A go higher without a problem, Could not run stable above 1.48 until I reinstalled Windows @1.530 now rock stable. Heat is the biggest battle currently I am able to play my favorite online games without a glitch. Though my temps are getting a little high 49-53degrees. In the bios my voltage for my vcore is set at 1.825 but the Abit KT7S runs higher voltage than what is posted in bios if you select 1.825 youll run at 1.87. My current cpu setting in the soft menu are 138x11 thats all I have to say

Diablo, we are using 1.0G/266 CPUs not 1.33G/266. They are a little more of a challenge to get stable above 1450 Mhz.

Walter, the fact that we are using KT7A motherboards has not gone un-noticed. There are a lot of issues around the KT7A regarding reliability of results from one board to the next. Hopefully, they will "settle down" soon. Otherwise, they are going to miss out on the markets that require high reliability motherboards.

At the time I was experiencing multiplier problems, my spare CPU was on loan, so I could not verify whether it was the motherboard or the CPU causing the trouble.

I've tried mine on both a KT7-RAID and a KT7A-RAID. My chip is a 1 ghz 266 FSB AXIA week 9. here are my results

Kt7-RAID 1280mhz (12 x 106 or 107 don't remember)
Kt7A-RAID 1333mhz (10x133)

I got same problem as u. I can do 1333 fine, but 1400 causes crashes I don't think MOST people are hittin 1400 + with 1 ghz models, even though thats how they make it seem, I think it is just a select few.

I have 2 more 1 ghz 266 FSB models coming in today though, so I'll see how well those overclock.

It will boot into windows with any other setting but it will soon lock up.

2.06 volts seems to be the sweet spot on four of the five of the Birds I own. My current 1333 is stuck running in a stock board, but not for long.

Ok then, if I go ahead and do the mod, will the BIOS reflect the new vcore's? Or will it still show 1.3-1.85? And what WATT soldering iron do I need to do this mod?

The same voltage options will still be available but when you select lets say 1.75v you will acually be getting more like 2.1v so be carefull about setting the voltage to high after doing the mod. Check the hardware monitor in bios to find out what you are running at for each setting and make a chart of it. I also keep a cheap Duron around for testing the results....just in case

You will need a low wattage iron with a very fine tip. I use a 15w iron and a set of helping hands, both from the Shack.

Check out the box in my sig. 1000 @ 1200 @ 1.50 Vcore. I'm sure that I could hit about 1.33 or 1.4 if I knocked the Vcore up to about 1.75 or 1.8, but with my current cooling, I'm not too sure that I wanna do that. I'm running an AXHA stepping.
