OH CRAP! Chipped my 1gig 266 core...can I say HELP!!

I know now the consequences of using a Super orb. My amd core is alrdy becomeing chipped .....1 corner is slightly chipped...the orb works great but is it bring death slowly to my tbird? i mean i had even loosened the clamp on the orb when I first got it ...but seemingly it doesnt help...So how much longer will my tbird last? or is there ANYWAY I can help the tbird?

I HAD an Orb and has also chipped the edge of my Duron but its still OK (touch wood) however the chances of you destroying the proc completely when you remove the Orb are quite high. Would suggest leave it be until you have funds to replace both proc and HSF.

Im pretty sure my core is chipped from my Crome orb days, still works though.

I have an orb sitting on my desk as a paper weight. It tore the lugs off of my ziff. Too much squeeze for the cooling power....

If the chip did not cause it to die right then and there, it probably won't matter. just a "wake up call" to be more careful. I truly hate the clip retention system.
