A few pic's of my new clear case mod. I built this case for my digital audio workstation. Every wire is gold taped to give a cool effect. Nothing very special cooling wise but it does run cool... (For now)...

DFI LanParty NFII Ultra motherboard
AMD 2500 Barton core, running at 2.3
1 gig DDram PC 2700
Raidmax 400 watt power supply
Nexus fan controller
2 80 gig Maxtor HD's
Radeon 9500 Pro video card
MOTU 2408 digital interface

Would love comments!

Good lord(me) that's pretty! I love the reoccuring gold theme... very original. Cabling is always the nightmare you have to conquer when you build transparent cases and you passed with flying colors. Very nice.

"I love GOOOLLLDD..."

I wish I had a nice mixer like that, and not to mention the nice rack you got there... I got real bad quality setup at a friend of mines'.

That'd be cool to cover it in the rack 'carpet' fabric... blend in!

Very cool. Love the digital sound station, but why didnt you go rackmount? It looks like you still got rack space? Well if you dont move it much it'd be fine outside, again good work. Very cool and I think you are the 1st I've seen use some gold tape and gold theme.

Looks awesome. The only thing I would probably do is swap the heatsink fan for a nice led one, but then again it still looks nice the way it is.

How did you make the edges, where you connect to pieces of plexi, so nice clear and crisp? What did you use to hold it together?

Wow… Thanks for all the replies! Let me answer a few questions… Yes, I did install the TT silent boost. I am happy with it so far. Seems to run cool for me, 37C on the cpu… I didn’t go rack mount because I only have 3.5 spaces left, and I didn’t want the computer so close to my amp, a big heat generator… Now as for the gold tape… Lets just say that I build things in my particular employment, which goes into space. This is the theme that I am going for, satellites… This stuff is real… And lucky for me, it has a shelf life! As for as the case, there is lots I can say. I purchased it from Xoxide. I was very impressed with the quality of this case kit from the packaging to the instructions to the assembly. Only 69 bucks too! I only have a few things to finish up on… Today, I will install a modified 3” plasma ball above the cd rom…

I agree.

Hehehe. Cool. Good idea with the gold tape tho. How much does a roll cost???

hey, Iam considering ordering that same case, I noticed on the website it said something about assembly required, I was just wondering what you have to assemble?

I am not sure how good the raidmax is. I myself use one and I think I am at its limits cause my 12v rail is running a little on the low side (11.3V average doh:eek: ). Just something for you to keep in mind. Overall its a really really nice mod and I have to say one of the best clear cases I have seen.

I dont like it. Why? Because you bought it. I read the title thinking you built it and damn, RIGHT when I saw it I knew you diddnt. I then read your post and you said you BUILT it. I of course was pretty ****ed. Okay nice job on the goldness, but seriously man, you need to change the top post and quit making people think that you "built" it.

I built this case for my digital audio workstation.

You must take that out.

Until you do, i am very ashamed of you for misleading people like that.

Its a sunbeam. So, he most likely assembled it, but he didnt make it. Maybe he should just say he assembled it.
