Was a version of the IC7-G ever produced that used the ICH5 chipset instead of the ICH5R? I ordered an IC7-G from Newegg a while back and device manager is showing the 82801EB chipset instead of the 82801ER. When I try to upgrade to the Intel IAA raid I get an incompatible chipset error. I am using BIOS 17. The mobo also has Abit IC7 on it instead of Abit IC7-G. The box and the manual are labeled IC7-G. I'm wondering if Newegg put the wrong mobo in thr right box. Thanks.

If you have 1 or 2 SATA drives just enable ON-Chip SATA Raid (ICH5R) in the bios and you should be able to install Intel IAA raid.
