My retail HSF for my Athlon 2000+ is slowly dying as we speak and I want to buy a new HSF that I can use now and in the future. So I'm looking for a HSF that works with my Athlon 2000+ and AMD Barton chips as well. Thanks for suggestions.
check out the heatsink ratings on the main overclockers.com page.. midway thru the page is a link to the list..
My recommendation would be the Thermalright SK-7 it rates in the top 4 of the coolers but can be found near $20-25, just add a good fan like the Thermaltake smart fan 2 and you'll have a heatsink good for as long as Socket A format is around..
Do your research, the 900A may not fit on your motherboard.
You'll have to determine the best heatsink for you. Only you know how high you'll be trying to overclock, how good your case cooling is, how much money you are willing to spend, or how much noise you're willing to put up with.
