I would like someone to comment on my brand new ATI9800Pro! Why does it state using Powerstrip that I have a default engine clock at 324.0 and Mem clock at 290.25???? When I look at their site it states that the base should be 380clock and 680mem!!! Whats wrong with my set up?? I have a 3.06 Ghz and 1GB of mem, a Sony Vaio rx-991. Should I send this back? Or is something set up wrong that I am not aware of to achieve those base numbers?
Thanks:mad:

bios flash... that's good for those of us sqeezing a bit more from our np's. but if i'd paid for a pro and recieved a np i'd be raging mad, RMA for sure with alot of naughty words to go with.

I have since contacted the supplier and they have requested my returning of the item to them for rplacement to the PRO version of the ATI9800 card. I have to be honest here, I was somewhatexcited about getting the most expensive card I evere bought and to have the ability to run any game on my PC with ease I did not pay much attention to the box cover. The cover on both the pro and non pro look pretty much the same from ATI with the exception of the "PRO" under the "9800". But with your help I clear my head and found the solution. For your requested info, I payed $295.00 for the card (ATI9800PRO). I would have to believe my numbers will be higher (3DMark) with the correct card. P.S. Any suggestions for an 8x AGP card to use with my Intel P$ 3.06GHz w/Hyperthreading Tech.???? I currently have a Ausus P4S533 V/L.
Thanks again for your support,

$295 sounds like the price of a 9800np isn't it?

The lowest PriceWatch prices for Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro OEM's is $295. BuyXG.Com has it for about this price.

The price is right, $295 for the 9800PRO. I am in the process of sending the non-pro back for the pro version. I am getting this card and PC set up to run Half-Life2 without any hitches. Hope all of this works out well!
9800np's run around 230-270$

heck if it has (gc2a) on the ramsinks just flash it and it will be a 9800pro .it will then be 380&330,and will not have artifacts because it is running the 2.8ns ram..
