When i put the ram in and boot up it just says Beeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeep......... (Looping) the manual told its because there is no ram.
I got 2 128mb 133mhz sticks(cas3) noname. One of them worked fine but when i put the other in i only get beeps same if i just try it alone or use both of them:( What is the problem?? since it worked totally fine on my abit kt7 mobo. They look a bit different so it might be 2 brands but they are the same speed. Can that be the problem?? do i have to buy new ram?? does it need to be the same brand?

So now an another problem: When i tried to install asusprobe the installprogram showed a temp of 55c with an F***ing fop38 and it was idling. then tried to reboot to bios and looked there and it was around 43c which is not that bad.... But which is right?? 55c seems really high to be using an fop38 also i used globalwin thermal paste: http://www.globalwin.com.tw/product/gw101.html

And im pretty sure the hsw is seated properly on the cpu core.
The cpu is: 1.1@1.2 running 133fsb. its orginally an 100fsb cpu.

Also could an bios update solve the ram problem?

Thx

Do a BIOS flash with the updated BIOS. The newest has a fix for DIMM dectection errors. Use the one good stick of RAM to do this, then try putting the other in. I have 2 128megs and 1 256 megs chips of generic, different brands and mine worked fine. But DO update the BIOS, I know that there was a fix on DIMM detection on the newest. Could solve your prob.

i rebooted and saw it already was the newest bios:( bios revision 1004.

So the only solution is to buy a new ram stick??

LOL i took one of the old 64 sticks (100mhz) from my amd k6 and put that in the slot between the good and bad ram and it worked!! even running it on 133mhz:) seems to be stable.

now the only thing i need help with is the high io voltage of 1.49v and the cpu temp.

Go to www.amdmb.com and d/l the newest 1004.02 bios, for one. For 2, don't worry about your cpu vcore, I run my 1gig TBird at 1.8vcore and I would only hit about 35C at idle and 39C at load. Look into lapping the heatsink and making sure your case has good airflow. I used a globalwin FOP38 before I hooked up my water cooling kit on Sunday and I had those 35-39C. I have EXCELLENT case cooling and my vcore is at 1.8.

Although I've not experienced any problems with my RAM, it's been reported that the various AMD motherboards can be very finicky about the RAM used.

The BIOS is right the Asus Probe utility is notorious for reading temps 10C or so high. I use Motherboard Monitor 5.05 and it matches the BIOS temps. 8)
