EDIT: Sorry, im not too familiar w/ new layout, i didnt realize this section existed.
they aren't bad for the price. definately better than standard earbuds. don't expect a huge difference though.

i like the idea of em b/c i use small headphones shoved into a backpack at school. I could accomodate big ones but id rather have something small. Do you have any recomendations of better at the same price range (<25)
nope. they are the best of what they are for the price range.
if you wanted something better... you'd need to increase your spending about 10 times. etymotic research makes some sweet canal phones that are supposed to be amazing. problem is... they are around $200+.
shure makes something like those and they are around 110.00 if i remember right but they aren't near as good. most people don't like them.

what about non buds in the same range, Sony has 20 buck "High-Fidelity" muffs but i dont know whether to trust sony for decent sound quality esp at 20 bux, Im wondering between the two what would sound better and if there is something better than the sonys at the same price (i would prefer small size but now that i have a new backpack its not a huge issue-i found the MX500s on newegg looking for some full sized headphones and thought they would be nice, PS i currently have the phillips clip on things but im tired of them-the sound is "tinny" and they have less bass support than my dads old 96 contour.
if you want bass... you aren't going to get it with earbuds or low end headphones.
for sound quality at that pricerange i would probly go for a pair of Koss PortaPros.
