agreed, As a music fan the iPod was a god send to replace my flash MP3 Player, Awsome sound quality, full range of EQ tools and a unfillable amount of space. Plus you can back up data on there just like an external HDD. O and Firewire is smoking fast.

Hey u can back up data on ipods? i didnt think you could and that was THE only feature holding me back from buying one, if it does, im all over this, 280 for 15 gigs and a dock, sooooo much better then paying 300 for 10 gigs and now dock WOW!!! but cany anyone gurantee this is the 3rd generation, i dont want some out of date thing ya know :)

I can confirm that the 15 gb ones are 3rd gen since 15 gig was only available as a 3rd gen. I assume that the ones that come with the dock are also 3rd gen, since 1st and 2nd gen dont have docking capabilities. I have a second gen which im selling to a friend of mine so I can pick one of these 3rd gen refurbs. I will call apple and find out if they are 3rd gen, I will keep u guys posted

hey cool thanks, becuase ill be ordering on this week if so, but do u need firewire to connect it to your comp? i dont have a port, i just thought that the dock was serial or something..?

U need firewire but there is a usb adapter u can purchase if u need it

My dad has a 3rd it is Firewire and USB2 :)

newegg's got a couple that are less than $20. Spend a bit extra and get a TI chipset if you want the best.

Damnit! i was going to order it tonight and i guess there out of the 15 gigers for 279...i hope that its only temporary, becuase im not spending more then 300 on one new :( PLEASE come back in stock with refurb 15 gigers!
