so im building my "party box"
and its going to have 2 cd roms in it,
but they both need that cable thats gose from the cdrom to the sound card,
but when i tryed to wire them in parallel they both need to be playing for much sound to come out,
same thing when i used two different cables and wired them into the two types of socket
what im thinking is happening is that when the cdrom isnt playing those pins have a low resistence and draws all the current from the other cdrom.

i hope one of you can help me,
or just tell me im plain wrong about that whole current thing,

what type of sound card

most newer ( like last 3 or so years) sound cards have cdrom in and a aux port and you just put the second cdrom in there

i dont know if they make a "Y" but it shouldnt really be that hard to make

i have no idea if a y would work if the singal is digital it proably wont if it s anylog i dont see why not

If your running windows 2000 or xp, you can usually set the drive to use digital audio. That way you wont need the audio cables at all. Just go to the properties for the drive, and select the check box on the properties tab.

You might want to take a close look at the pinouts too, sometimes they are like LGGR and sometimes LGRG .

Worst case you may be able to wire up one externally to the mic or aux port on the outside, if the card has them.

I did the mic thing once, it sounded like crap. Use aux if you're absolutely out of options.
