Question about a Heatsink?

Actually Looks Like This, But Copper

That's about all the information I know about it. It came with a chinchy fan, which I replaced with a kickass Vantec. It is solid copper, its pretty decent (I get cooler temps but I can't clock as high). However, it does have pretty bad manufacturing marks on the base which needs to be lapped pretty badly (will be doing this tomorrow). I was just wondering what its equivalent is as far as name brand goes (considering it is a CompUSA, it was more than likely a repackaged part). ...from what I can tell, it kind of looks like the X-Dream?

That looks like a GlobalWin, but I am not completely sure. It is probably close to any microfin copper heatsink out there.

doesn't look like microfin to me. more like the fins were cut out.

Which is better, correct? No loss of heat transfer via solder?

Skived=Better.....no thermal loss from base to fin.
